How to support First Ascent on Kickstarter
Our goal is to raise $17,000 to manufacture First Ascent and share this game with as many friends as possible. Kickstarter is a way for people to pre-order the game and support the project. People who pledge money to the Kickstarter campaign are called “backers” and can determine how much money they want to contribute. Here are easy to follow instructions for using Kickstarter.
How to use Kickstarter
Press the button above to access the First Ascent Kickstarter page. Select “Log In” from the top right corner, if you don’t have a Kickstarter account you will need to create one.
Two easy options to create a Kickstarter account:
1) Select “New to Kickstarter? Sign Up” and use your email address and set a password
2) Use an Apple ID or Facebook account to link to Kickstarter
Backing the project
Once you’re logged in to Kickstarter and on the First Ascent page, select the green “Back this project” button.
You will be presented with the PLEDGE TIERS - these are the options for supporting the project:
1) Belayer - Pledge $1 or more: you can choose any amount to donate to the project. This is great if you want to show your support but don’t really want/need a board game about rock climbing.
2) Retailer tier - This is a $5 donation for RETAIL STORES ONLY so you can ignore this!
3) Climber - Pledge $49 or more to get one copy of First Ascent: You can enter any amount equal to or more than $49 and you will receive one copy of the game! There will be additional shipping charges, which we’ll discuss below.
4) Guide - Pledge $95 or more to get two copies of First Ascent: You can enter any amount equal to or more than $95 and you will receive two copies of the game! Shipping charges will also apply.
5) First Ascensionist - Pledge $350 or more to receive one copy of First Ascent and a custom illustration of yourself or a loved one on a card in First Ascent. Shipping charges will also apply.
Select the round bubble on the left for the option of your choice and you can manually enter any value of contribution greater than the minimum for that pledge tier. Then press the “Continue” button.
Payment
Enter you payment information - note that your credit card will not be charged until the end of the campaign July 15th.
Select the box next to “I understand…”
Select the green “Pledge” button.
Rewards not guaranteed?
Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing format that protects you as a backer and us as creators. If we do not reach the campaign goal of $17,000 you won’t be charged and we won’t be on the hook to deliver a product with insufficient funds.
Shipping and the pledge manager
After the Kickstarter campaign successfully funds, we will send you a link to our pledge manager partner, GameFound. You will need to use GameFound to verify your shipping address, finalize your order, and pay the appropriate shipping cost. If you do not complete this step, you will not receive your game!
Updates
Throughout the campaign and afterwards, we will send periodic updates to keep backers informed on the status of the campaign and the manufacturing and fulfillment of First Ascent! Be on the lookout, especially when we email you information about the Pledge Manager.
